FCA 1/23

Happy Monday everyone! Last week we had a great night at FCA! We got to hear from Kaleb White from Newspring Church.

Kaleb talked about spirituality and how it has been around for many generations. There are many different generations like; baby boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Gen Z. Every generation has their differences and can share/react to the gospel differently.

Faith and confidence are what carry our trust in God.

Kaleb touched on two passages of scripture; Hosea 4:1-6 and Romans 2:4.

Hosea 4:1-6

“Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites, because the Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. Because of this the land dries up, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea are swept away. But let no one bring a charge, let no one accuse another, for your people are like those who bring charges against a priest. You stumble day and night, and the prophets stumble with you. So I will destroy your mother—my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.”

Romans 2:4

“Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”

Is there any place in your life where you are taking the kindness and goodness of God for granted? Does it lead you toward repentance? Or are you going to hold the kindness of God up and be content?

Kaleb took these two scriptures and tied them into the Lord’s ability to speak the same truth through very different generational cultures, and that’s the same thing He’s doing today with us.

Kaleb challenged Clemson FCA as a whole to not only look passed stylistic differences, seeing as the idea of having preferences is a fairly new concept, and choose to encourage one another instead.
