FCA 11/21
Happy Monday Clemson FCA! I hope everyone is having a great day! Last Thursday we had the privilege of hearing from Blake Ross from Radius Greenville. Blake pressed into what a real relationship with God is like and how to abide with the Lord.
Abide means to remain in a close and settled union. We have an invitation to remain in a union with the Lord and pursue a deep relationship with Him. Blake gave us four specific scriptures in John on abiding.
John 15:4 – “Abide in me, and I in you.”
John 15:5 – “Whoever abides in me and I in him.”
John 15:7 – “If you abide in me and my words abide in you.”
John 15:9 – “Abide in my love.”
In order to fully have a relationship with the Lord, we have to understand His Lordship, death, and resurrection.
1. Abide in Christ as your Lord
He owns every square inch of your life and may want to rule in any of these square inches. He is to be obeyed, what he says goes. Allow God to take control of your life. Give Him every square inch of your life.
2. Abide in Christ as your Savior
He has forgiven you for all you have ever done, are currently doing, and will ever do. He more than forgives you, he loves you. We have been cleansed from our sins by an amazing savior.
3. Abide in Christ as your King
He has given you the power to relate to Him through literally anything and everything. He has also given us the power to love in any way that He calls you too.
James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
As the holiday season approaches lets focus on abiding in God. If we draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.
