Let's Hangout!

Outside of Thursday nights, the body of FCA gathers at different events throughout the year to engage in fellowship and fun with one another. The goal of these events is to create a space for believers and non-believers to encounter the love of Christ through true community and relationship with one another outside of our weekly gatherings. In a typical year, our events include First Week, Fall and Spring Shags, Big Chill, and Winter Formal. In addition to those, new events are created every year--like Spooky Skate, Sweaters S’Mores and Shag, Survivor, the Talent Show, etc.

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!

Typical Events

First Week Events

This typically happens during the first week of classes of fall semester--beginning the weekend where all students move back on campus. Events in years past include hanging out on Bowman field, playing sharks and minnows across campus, socializing during an ice cream social, shagging under the library bridge, and many others. This serves to provide freshmen with an opportunity to meet new people within FCA as soon as they get to campus, as well as give upperclassmen a chance to catch up after the summer break.

Fall/Spring Shag

Our shags happen twice a year--once in the fall and once in the spring at Chattooga Belle Farms. It’s a fun night of dancing with friends and a date with a beautiful view overlooking the apple orchards and the mountains beyond. These typically are the favorite FCA event of the year!

Big Chill

This is our annual weekend retreat as an organization in the fall. We travel to Ridge Haven Conference Center in Brevard, NC for a weekend of rest, fellowship, and fun. Students attend sessions with worship and a message, engage in small group discussions, and have free time just having fun with one another. It’s a great opportunity for all to get plugged in and find a smaller community within FCA.

Winter Formal

Our annual Winter Formal event takes place at the beginning of the spring semester and is a fun opportunity for students to get dressed up in formal attire and enjoy a night of dancing with friends or a date. It’s previously been held at venues in downtown Greenville, like the Old Cigar Warehouse.
